RaBox and RaBox/AR (Active Response)

The RaBox and RaBox/AR are simply firewall appliances with an integrated NSM(Network Sercurity Monitoring) sensor. In addition to acting as a traditional firewall, the NSM capabilities allow it to respond to the malicious activity it detects. This is generally only done in specific cases where the network traffic in question is positively identified as malicious or undesirable. For example, if a brute-force attack on an FTP server is detected - trying every word in the dictionary as a password for instance - the FW can be instructed to block the originating IP address and any other that tries to do the same. The RaBox and RaBox/AR are also available with a wireless monitoring option (RaBox-W and RaBox/AR-W) The RaBox can be deployed as a single unit or as a fault tolerant pair, RaBox/AR, where a single point of failure is not an acceptable risk. In a fault tolerant configuration, two units are installed and share a common state table. In the event one unit fails, all active network connections are maintained as the secondary unit automatically takes over.
